Gabriel Davidovich
Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Argentina
Gabriel Davidovich is a prominent figure in the Jewish community of Argentina, serving as the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi. He has been leading the community from his base at the AMIA Jewish center since 2013. In this role, he has been instrumental in guiding and supporting the community's spiritual and cultural development.
Rabbi Davidovich has also been a victim of antisemitic violence. In a disturbing incident in February 2019, he was brutally assaulted at his home in Buenos Aires. The attack resulted in serious physical harm, including broken ribs and a disfiguring injury. The incident was a traumatic experience not only for Rabbi Davidovich but also for his wife, who was restrained by the attackers during the incident. Despite this challenging experience, Rabbi Davidovich continues to serve as a spiritual leader and advocate for the Jewish community in Argentina.
