Roman Cycowski
American singer (1901–1998)
Roman Cycowski was a prominent American singer, born in 1901. His notable career was marked by his involvement with the Comedian Harmonists, a renowned German vocal sextet. As a member of this group, Cycowski was part of a unique musical ensemble that gained significant recognition during its time.
Cycowski's association with the Comedian Harmonists was also marked by the challenges the group faced due to the Nazi regime's policies. The group was ultimately dissolved because three of its members were of Jewish background. Cycowski, however, survived and went on to live a long life, becoming the last surviving member of the Comedian Harmonists. He passed away in 1998, at the age of 97, leaving behind a legacy of his contributions to the world of music.
