Nina Niss-Goldman

Nina Niss-Goldman was a Russian artist of Jewish origin, born in 1892 and active in multiple mediums, including painting and sculpture. Her career was marked by involvement with various artistic organizations, notably as a founding member of the Society of Artists 'The Four Arts'. This affiliation reflects her commitment to collaborative and innovative artistic expression.

Throughout her long career, Niss-Goldman held memberships in several prestigious artistic bodies. She was a member of the Society of Russian Sculptors and, from its inception in 1932, the Moscow Union of Artists. Ultimately, she became the most senior member of the Artists' Union of the USSR, a testament to her enduring contributions to the Russian art world. Her family also boasted a notable figure in the arts, her brother Voldemar Ryndzune Vetluguin, a Russian-American writer, journalist, and film producer. Niss-Goldman passed away in 1990, leaving behind a legacy as a dedicated artist and educator.
