Jonathan Hirschfeld

Israeli painter, curator, columnist and educator (-1979)

Jonathan Hirschfeld was a multifaceted Israeli figure in the art world, active until 1979, although it appears there is some discrepancy in the records as he is also noted to have been an art columnist since 2001. As a painter, he showcased his work in solo exhibitions at various esteemed institutions, including the Ramat Gan Museum of Israeli Art, Raw Art Gallery, Jerusalem Artists House, and Givon Gallery.

Hirschfeld's artistic reach extended beyond his individual exhibitions, as he also participated in numerous group exhibitions at prominent venues such as the Jerusalem Print Workshop, Sommer Contemporary Art, Haifa Museum of Art, and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, among others. His work has been recognized and collected by the Israel Museum, a testament to his contribution to Israeli art. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Hirschfeld was a lecturer, educator, curator, and essayist, further solidifying his impact on the Israeli art scene.
