Jonathan Freedland

British journalist (born 1967)

Jonathan Freedland is a British journalist born in 1967. He is known for his work as a columnist, writing a weekly column for The Guardian, and as a presenter for the BBC Radio 4 series The Long View, which explores contemporary history. In addition to his work in journalism, Freedland has also written for The Jewish Chronicle, although he resigned from this position in September 2024.

Beyond his journalistic pursuits, Freedland is also a writer of fiction, primarily using the pseudonym Sam Bourne to author thrillers. His writing extends to the stage as well, with his play Jews. In Their Own Words being performed at the Royal Court Theatre in London in 2022. Through his diverse body of work, Freedland has established himself as a prominent figure in British journalism and literature, with a range of creative outputs that showcase his versatility as a writer.
